Our onyx tiles are inspired by the extraordinary beauty of natural onyx, a stone that’s been cherished for thousands of years. And while they replicate the dazzling beauty of this translucent gemstone, they’re actually made from porcelain. This means you can enjoy the rich colouring and extreme variation of onyx in any area of your home, without having to worry about maintenance or special care.
As you might expect, natural onyx demands a hefty price tag. It’s also extremely difficult to work with, as it’s fragile and susceptible to stains and scratches. However, our onyx effect tiles will give you the same luxurious look without any of the hassle. They can be cut and installed in the same way as a normal porcelain tile and don’t require sealing or any special care, during or after installation. Best of all, they will give you the high-end look for a fraction of the price.
Unlike real onyx, our onyx effect tiles are highly resistant to scratches and can be used on floors inside your home.
Our onyx effect tiles do not need to be sealed, before or after installation. However, we recommend that grout joints are sealed using LTP Grout Protector, to protect them from stains and discolouring over time.
As they are so durable, you can install on our onyx effect tiles on any wall or floor at home, including showers. Some of our onyx tiles have a highly polished finish, so you may wish to exercise a degree of caution when laying these on wet floors, such as bathrooms.
Our onyx porcelain tiles are compatible with both water and electric underfloor heating systems.
Our onyx tiles are made from porcelain so they’re much easier to install than real onyx. We recommend using a flexible porcelain tile adhesive together with a tile levelling system and, where possible, incorporating an anti-fracture mat into your project.
