Discover the UK’s most beautiful wood effect tiles

It’s fair to say we know a thing or two about wood effect tiles. After all, we’ve been selling them for nearly a decade. Our beautiful range of wood effect porcelain tiles includes all manner of styles, colours and sizes, designed to complement any interior space. So whether you’re after white-washed planks for a scandi-style living room or a more rustic design for a cottage interior, we’re sure to have the right wood effect floor tiles for you.

Wood Look Tiles For Every Space

Wood effect tiles are a great choice for every floor. It doesn’t matter whether you're renovating a tiny en-suite or adding a large kitchen extension, we have a variety of sizes to suit. Our longer wood look tiles, like Southwell Elm, are ideal for bigger floors. But that said, size doesn’t always matter: smaller plank tiles, such as Avalon Pale Wood, are ideal for adding detail to both bijou bathrooms and cavernous kitchens alike.

Our Best Selling Wood Effect Tiles

Spoilt for choice? We understand. But knowing which of our wood effect porcelain tiles sell the best might inspire you.

Design-wise, Arteak Castano scores the most on-trend style points. Perfect if you’re on a tight budget, these wood look tiles are eye-catching when laid in a trendy herringbone pattern. For truly statement flooring, you can’t beat the rich tones of our Windsor Dark tiles. Their parquet-style pattern is undeniably good-looking, luxurious and the epitome of Italian design. For contemporary yet timeless flooring, consider Woodwork Beige or Timber Oak. With authentic grains and warm tones, these wood effect tiles are designed to look great just about anywhere.

What are wood effect tiles?

Wood effect tiles are tiles that are made of porcelain, but designed to look exactly like a real wooden floor. Finding an authentic wooden floor in a home is rare, and installing one can be expensive. Wood look tiles offer an affordable alternative that looks equally as stunning.

Can I use wood tiles in bathrooms or showers?

Yes! Our wood effect porcelain tiles are highly resistant to water, and they can be safely laid over bathroom floors or even shower walls. Unlike natural wood, wood effect tiles will withstand wet and steamy conditions and won’t rot, swell or warp. This means they're also well-suited to more functional spaces, such as utility or boot rooms.

Can wood tiles be laid with underfloor heating?

Wood effect floor tiles are a perfect partner for both electric and water underfloor heating systems. High heat won’t cause the tiles to swell or shrink and they’re also a great conductor of heat. This means they will help your room heat up faster - good for both your heating bills and the environment.

How to install wood effect tiles?

You can choose to lay wood effect tiles with a staggered joint or in a herringbone pattern. They should be installed onto a stable substrate such as concrete or tile backing boards, using a cement-based tile adhesive, and the joints between tiles grouted in. We also recommend the use of a tile levelling system with all plank tiles. Find more help on how to tile a floor in our advice centre.

Do wood effect tiles need sealing?

Unlike natural timber floors, our wood effect tiles do not require any special treatment before or after installation. Most of our wood tiles are made from porcelain, which is non-porous and very difficult to stain.

How do you clean wood effect tiles?

Compared to real timber floors, wood-look tiles are easy to live with. They can be mopped using a household floor detergent or LTP Porcelain Floor Cleaner, diluted in warm water. Before cleaning floor tiles, sweep the surface with a soft brush to remove dirt and debris. It’s important that tiles are rigorously cleaned during installation with LTP Grout Stain Remover to remove any traces of cement, which can trap dirt over time.

Do wood-effect tiles swell or warp?

Our porcelain wood effect tiles are very stable and will not swell or warp when they’re wet or with changes in temperature and humidity. This means they’re extremely suitable for damp floors, such as bathrooms and utility rooms. What’s more, porcelain is much more durable than engineered wood or traditional oak planks. While wood effect floor tiles look just like real timber, they’re very difficult to scratch or stain, making them a perfect flooring option for floors in busy family homes.

How realistic are wood effect tiles?

The latest wood effect tiles in our collection are almost indistinguishable from natural timber. They’re produced using high-definition technology, which replicates the beauty of wood onto a porcelain body and there’s plenty of variation between planks, as you’d expect to find on original wooden floors.
