If designer style is what you’re after, then our large floor tiles are just what you need. Whether they’re for a kitchen extension or open living room, they make the perfect choice for spacious homes. After all, when it comes to statement floors, bigger is always better! From zen-like concrete slabs to super-luxe onyx designs, you’re sure to find something to suit your space.
Naturally, we’ve got a great selection of large tiles in contemporary designs and colours, such as Ancoats Grey XL and Portland White. But we understand that all homes are different - so whatever your interior style, we’ve got you covered. Looking for something a little more rustic? Then discover Castello Beige or Montpellier Ivory. Mansion Parquet is just the ticket, if you’re after a sophisticated look that won’t date, ever. Or if your tastes are distinctly glam, you’re sure to love Illusion Gold - the golden veins add an opulent touch to the classic white marble design.
It’s easy to see why large porcelain tiles are so popular in the UK. Firstly, they always look great - a floor that’s covered in large scale tiles never fails to impress. So they’re ideal if you’re after that contemporary wow-effect in your home. Secondly, as our large tiles are made from porcelain, they’re really easy to maintain, especially compared to natural materials such as timber or stone. And lastly, because of their bigger size you’ll have fewer grouts joints to keep clean over time. Win-win-win!
As you might expect, our large floor tiles are well-suited to spacious rooms where their size can really be appreciated. So that’s kitchen-diners, garden rooms, open ground floors and the like. However, they’re not just for bigger floors. Due to their larger impact, they will also make small rooms feel more spacious, so they’re a great option for bathrooms and hallways too.
Many of our large tiles are rectified, where their edges are cut to a very precise size. This means they can be laid with a small grout joint - we usually recommend 2mm. If you use a grout colour that closely matches the tone of your tiles, you can achieve a coveted and super-modern seamless flooring style in your room.
Tiles up to 60 x 120 cm in size can usually be installed by one person; you may need two people for larger and heavier tiles. We recommend using a tile levelling system to ensure that the surface of your new floor is perfectly flat, with no lips between individual tiles.
As with all tiling projects, your subfloor must be correctly prepared and level. Any discrepancies may cause issues when installing the tiles, due to their larger size. Where required, you can use a levelling compound to level your floor - this is a must if you are using electric underfloor heating mats below your tiles.
