Plenty of companies heralded shades of green as 2022’s Colour of the Year with a light, sagey tone being favoured by paint specialists Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, and Pratt and Lambert. More specifically in the world of interior design it’s the living room set to make the most of our love of green.

Wall

A statement feature or a colourful wrap-around delight, greens of all kinds can work a wall. For a mellow, chilled out vibe we recommend olive greens, dusty moss shades, or something light and sagey.

Floor

Whether you’re working with carpet, paint, tiles, or rugs, the floor has lots of potential for greenery. We recommend mixing it up with patterns to prevent the ground looking grassy, or going for a dark green for a low maintenance look.

Fireplace

The fireplace is one of the most wonderful parts of the house. Perfect for a stylish statement, use bold green tiles or a rich paint to make the face, hearth, and chimney stand out.

Furniture

Furniture can make all the difference. If you want to include green but don’t want a space blanketed in the colour, try out the trend by painting a coffee table or splurge on a luxurious green armchair.

Accessories

Little hints of green throughout the room can be just as impactful as a feature wall or sumptuous sofa. Deep green vases, sage throw pillows, or even just a couple of potted plants can make the space feel fresh and vibrant.
